Lynmar Estate Announces a New "Estate Collection" of Wine Country Experiences
Exclusively in the Russian River Valley

(Russian River Valley, Calif.) February 4, 2009 – This spring and summer, enjoy the bounty of the wine country far beyond the typical tasting room setting. Lynmar Estate, a distinctive winery set amid 100 rolling acres in the heart of Sonoma County, announces the launch of its “Estate Collection” tours—three indulgent excursions that welcome visitors into a lush landscape of vineyards, orchards, flourishing gardens and redwood groves. Through each of these experiences—Cultivation Classes, Pinot and Pizza afternoons, and an insider’s Estate Tour— guests of the Estate will see and taste wine country as never before.

Cultivation Classes
Head gardener Michael Presley guides guests on a two-hour exploration of Lynmar’s lush gardens and expansive estate, with focused discussions on a variety of topics including seasonal plantings, seed saving and harvesting.  Nascent gardeners and aficionados alike will benefit from the Presley’s expertise.  Classes will be followed by an hour-long Reserve Tasting, featuring Lynmar’s acclaimed wines paired with bites from the garden prepared by estate chef Sandra Simile. All participants are granted membership into Lynmar’s Friends of the Garden program, which will enable them to visit, plant and harvest the community garden throughout the year.

Cultivation Classes are offered in partnership with the CERES Project, a Sebastopol-based charity that delivers nutritious meals to people with serious illnesses. Since November 2008, the winery has provided more than 200 pounds of high nutrient produce to the organization, and Lynmar plans to donate approximately 1,800 pounds in 2009.

WHEN:  10:00am to 1:00pm on the following Saturdays throughout the spring and summer: May 16, June 13, July 11, August 1. Prior reservation required. Space is limited.
* Private classes are also available by appointment for larger groups  on other mutually agreed upon dates.

COST:  $95 per class/$325 for a season series package of four classes. For reservations or more information, call 707.829.3374 and select option “4” when prompted.

The Ultimate Pairing: Pinot & Pizza at Lynmar Estate
Head gardener Michael Presley will trade his gardening tools for a toque during Lynmar’s second year of  Pinot and Pizza. Against the sylvan backdrop of Lynmar’s secluded Redwood Grove, Presley will create crisp pizzas in the handcrafted wood-burning oven, using seasonal, fresh produce from Lynmar’s gardens as well as local mushrooms, artisan cheeses and meats. Winery Chef Sandra Simile will hand-select all of the ingredients for the recipes each day, which range from mixed herb pesto pizza with grilled chicken, golden heirloom tomatoes and Laura Chanel goat cheese to roasted garlic crème pizza with spring onions, golden beets and buffalo mozzarella. The pizza dough is also handmade and created with yeast from the Estate’s own pinot noir grapes.  Each blistered, thin-crust pizza  is served with a sampling of Lynmar’s signature Pinots.

WHEN:  4:30-6:30pm on the following Saturdays throughout the spring and summer: May 16, June 13, July 11, August 1, September 12
* Pinot & Pizza is also available by appointment on other mutually agreed upon dates for groups of 10 or more.

COST:   $40 per person. Price includes Lynmar’s fresh homemade pizzas paired with Lynmar’s current release wines. Prior reservation required. Space is limited. For reservations or more information call 707.829.3374 and select option “4” when prompted.

Lynmar's Estate Tour
At Lynmar Estate, the caliber of the team speaks to the quality of the wine and to the dedication of the owners, Anisya and Lynn Fritz, to provide an exceptional experience for their private guests on the property.

Guests on the Estate Tour will be greeted and guided throughout the tour by the Lynmar hospitality team, and usually meet head gardener Michael Presley for the garden portion of the tour.  While in the winery, guests will glimpse the seasonal operations and often meet renowned winemaker Hugh Chappelle, before returning to the tasting room for the culmination of the tour: a decadent wine and food pairing prepared by chef Sandra Simile.

During these two-hour tours, groups taste, touch, smell, hear and see highlights from the entire property. The journey begins in Lynmar’s expansive, organically-farmed vegetable and flower gardens before moving up the “Road to Bliss” to the Lynmar seed barn, horticultural center and greenhouse. After learning about the gardens, guests stroll through the vineyards and explore the wine caves, stopping by the gravity-flow winery before returning to the subtle comforts of the tasting room with its leather chairs and soft hues.   On warm days, guests may opt to enjoy the vistas of the Estate from the veranda.

WHEN: The Lynmar Estate Tour is held year round and is available by appointment only. The Estate Tour can accommodate a minimum of six people and a maximum of 14 people.

COST: $65 per person. The tour lasts approximately two hours and includes an extensive property tour, wine tasting and gourmet food pairing with recipes. For reservations or more information, call 707.829.3374 and select option “4” when prompted.
