“Cowboys and Gentlemen” Vertical Tasting
Sit-Down Tasting Features the Winery’s Coveted Lone Canyon and
Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignons
(Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, Calif.) August 6, 2007 – In just under 10 years, Ladera Vineyards has already established itself as one of Napa Valley’s leading hillside estate Cabernet producers, with its signature small-production Lone Canyon and Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignons (nicknamed “The Cowboy” and “The Gentleman,” respectively). In order to give wine lovers an exclusive, intimate opportunity to taste Ladera’s two distinctive Cabernets, the winery has introduced its “Cowboys and Gentlemen” private vertical tasting personally led by owner Pat Stotesbery.
The “Cowboys and Gentlemen” seated private tasting will be offered year-round by appointment only for up to 12 people (additional fees apply for larger groups). Tastings will be held in Ladera’s caves which are situated in the gorgeous 1886 “ghost winery” on picturesque Howell Mountain.
The tasting will feature 12 unforgettable Cabs from Ladera Vineyards: vintages from 1998-2005 of the Lone Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2000-2004 of the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Pat will offer his reflections on each wine and vintage, giving participants a unique first-hand perspective. The wines will be paired with delicious local cheeses to round out a truly special Napa Valley experience.
Ladera Vineyards nicknamed its Lone Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon “The Cowboy” for its intensity and as a nod to the Stotesberys’ Montana ranching roots, while the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon earned its “Gentleman” moniker for its velvety, elegant tannins and rich, full flavors. Ladera Vineyards’ small production makes this tasting all the more unique for Cabernet aficionados.
